The senior Israel Police officer was present at the meeting alongside other officers to provide security for the minister, according to a police statement, though his private security detail was also present. But several police sources expressed surprise about the presence of officers at a political gathering
Lt. Col. Assaf Doak and other officers from the station came to a conference where the minister spoke about his political activities to party activists. The police claimed that the officers "accompanied and secured the minister," even though his security guards were also present at the conference. On a tour of the city earlier, Doak praised Ben-Gvir and asked him to "continue to do good for all citizens of Israel."
