Bedford court officials warn of jury duty scams

Bedford County court officials on Thursday warned members of the public to “stay vigilant against multiple reported jury duty phone, email and text scams,” according to a press release.

Bedford Co., Court Issues Scam Warning

Bedford County Court Administration is warning the public of a surge in scams where fraudsters use “spoofing” technology to impersonate court officials and demand payments for alleged jury duty failures.  Officials advise that the courts never solicit funds over the phone, and recipients of such calls should hang up immediately and report the incident to law enforcement or the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.
