New Lloyds Bank research identifies East Ayrshire, Scotland as the most affordable UK area for first-time buyers, with an average property price of £147,353.
Lloyds Bank recently launched a new £5,000 deposit mortgage designed to help first-time buyers who lack financial support from family.
Amanda Bryden, head of mortgages at Lloyds Bank, said there are "genuine pockets of value" for buyers willing to be flexible on location and property type.
Other affordable areas include Inverclyde at £149,929, Blackpool at £150,780, and Kingston upon Hull at £151,171, as the national average first-time buyer age stands at 31.
In the Ribble Valley, buyers are entering the market at an average age of 27, significantly younger than the national average, bucking broader affordability trends.
