B.C. Woman Set to Appear on Dragons' Den
Christiansen says the Twist is the only stainless steel chicken shredder in the world, and she has 13 patents worldwide.
On Thursday, Nov. 12, Kelowna entrepreneur Billie Christiansen, founder of the Little Kitchen Company, will pitch her kitchen invention on CBC's Dragon's Den, episode nine of season 21.
Christiansen uses software to identify consumer demand for non-existent products, then reverse-engineers designs, prototypes, and patents tools to solve specific kitchen frustrations rather than creating product variations.
Her latest creation, the Twist, is a stainless steel chicken shredder she claims is the only one globally. This commitment to innovation has yielded 13 patents worldwide: one granted and 12 pending.
Christiansen's first invention, a stainless steel meat chopper, ranked at the top of Amazon New Releases for 90 straight days, demonstrating prior commercial traction for her kitchen tools.
Describing her Dragon's Den appearance as a 'nerve-racking experience,' Christiansen cannot disclose the outcome until the episode airs on CBC next month.
