B.C. rideshare service brings mountain shuttle back for Parks Canada

The operator will run four daily return trips and charge $50 per passenger as park officials reopen access to the summit route.

  • Revy Rides received Parks Canada approval this month to operate a shuttle service up Mount Revelstoke National Park, currently transporting visitors halfway up the Meadows in the Sky Parkway to the Columbia Viewpoint.
  • Launching its three-van fleet last November, the Revelstoke-based service has expanded operations beyond town limits, adding routes to Martha Creek Provincial Park, Skunk Cabbage, and Giant Cedars boardwalk.
  • Revy Rides operates two 12-seat electric shuttles and supplements with a 13-seat gas-powered van during peak demand, running four return trips daily at $50 per passenger, or $25 each direction, with bookings required 12 hours in advance.
  • Chief Operating Officer Brian Trafford said the shuttle ensures equal access for visitors unable to walk long distances to enjoy alpine wildflower meadows, adding, "it's really cool to be able to provide an alternative for people."
  • While Parks Canada operated a shuttle until 2020 and Tourism Revelstoke ran festival-specific services from 2021 to 2024, this marks the first fixed-route service to the summit, with operations continuing until the end of September.
