B.C. physician wins woman's healthcare award
The award recognizes her research, education and leadership in women’s health, along with national curricula work and mentoring hundreds of trainees.
- On Monday, September 21, the Federation of Medical Women of Canada honored West Kelowna physician Dr. Unjali Malhotra with the Enid Johnson MacLeod Award for her national leadership in women's healthcare research and medical education.
- Named for a pioneering Nova Scotia anesthesiologist, the award celebrates Malhotra's efforts to advance women's health through her contributions to Canadian Menopause Guidelines, Canadian Contraception guidance, and HPV research.
- Malhotra founded British Columbia's first accredited rural and remote women's health residency program at the University of British Columbia after establishing a similar program at the University of Manitoba.
