Liverpool Step Closer to Blockbuster Bradley Barcola Signing
Liverpool are ready to push for Bradley Barcola as PSG hold out for a fee that could force a club-record bid.
- On Tuesday, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano declared that Bradley Barcola wants to join Liverpool, the 23-year-old French winger having maintained this desire since May after reaching an agreement in principle with manager Andoni Iraola.
- Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's 18-month tenure as PSG's preferred left-winger since his January 2025 arrival from Napoli has reduced Barcola's playing time, with his form deteriorating and Champions League opportunities limited to substitute appearances.
- PSG demands at least £170 million for Barcola, though the CIES Football Observatory estimates his value at just under £85 million, creating a significant gap that could make him Liverpool's most expensive signing, surpassing their £240 million combined outlay for Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak.
- Direct talks between player representatives are aimed at solidifying the framework in the coming days, with personal terms expected straightforward despite PSG remaining firm on their financial demands and no agreement yet sealed.
- Arsenal's prioritization of Real Madrid's Vinicius Junior has allowed Liverpool to lead the pursuit, while the Reds' recent five-year contract with Dominik Szoboszlai demonstrates their resolve to secure top targets before contract situations deteriorate.
