Bandits roar back from defeat to down Honey Badgers
Mitch Creek scored 26 points as Vancouver improved to 8-4 after a 61-point second half and a sold-out crowd at Langley Events Centre.
On Saturday night at the Langley Events Centre, the Vancouver Bandits routed the Brampton Honey Badgers 102-81, fueled by an explosive 61-point second half that improved their record to 8-4.
Entering the game following back-to-back losses, including a lopsided defeat in Winnipeg that knocked them out of first place in the Canadian Elite Basketball League Western Conference, the Bandits sought to reclaim their identity.
Returning to form, 2025 CEBL MVP Mitch Creek scored 26 points with eight rebounds and eight assists, while Jarkel Joiner added 22 points and Tyrese Samuel recorded a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds.
Honey Badgers head coach Alex Cerda praised the Bandits' defensive intensity, stating, "When you drive to the paint, they make you earn it." Cerda noted the team defends with multiple efforts.
On Saturday, June 27, the Bandits return to action at Envision Financial Court against the Winnipeg Sea Bears for Filipino Heritage Night at 6 p.m.
