- On Thursday night, suspected bandits abducted Bungudu Local Government Area Chairman Nura Abdullahi from his residence in Bungudu town, killing four security personnel during the raid.
- Attackers stormed the Zango area, less than 20 kilometres from Gusau, killing Inspector Basiru Lawal, police constable Hamza Muhammad, and two vigilantes while seizing Abdullahi and two other residents.
- Following the raid, security operatives pursued the attackers and successfully rescued four or five children, though Abdullahi remains in captivity alongside Halliru Soja and Hussaini Naira.
- Bungudu LGA, located about 21 kilometres from Gusau, is frequently targeted by bandits who kidnap for ransom and attack security outposts, leaving residents in mourning.
- Across Zamfara State, residents of Bungudu and other vulnerable communities have appealed to security agencies to strengthen protections to curb the recurring attacks plaguing the region.
