Ousmane Dembélé and Chloe Kelly Nominated for Men's and Women's Ballon d'Or Awards
ÎLE-DE-FRANCE, FRANCE, AUG 6 – Nominees include rising stars and established players recognized for their 2024-25 club performances, with the Women’s Kopa Trophy highlighting top young talent under 21.
On August 7, 2025, France Football revealed the shortlist of 30 contenders for the Ballon d'Or, ahead of the award presentation scheduled for September 22 in Paris.
The shortlist was finalized after the conclusion of the 2024/25 European football season and chosen by a selection panel comprising members from France Football and L'Equipe.
A single journalist representing each of the 100 highest-ranked countries in the FIFA rankings will select their top 10 players, assigning points that will be totaled to determine the Ballon d'Or recipient.
Leading candidates for the 2025 Ballon d'Or include Ousmane Dembele, Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Mohamed Salah, Kylian Mbappe, Vitinha, and Achraf Hakimi.
The Ballon d'Or awards event is scheduled for September 22 at Paris's Théâtre du Châtelet, where honors such as the Kopa Trophy, Gerd Müller Trophy, and Socrates Award will be presented.
