- On Tuesday, Los Angeles Angels right fielder Jo Adell misplayed a fly ball, which grazed his glove before bouncing off his head and over the wall for a home run by Colorado Rockies designated hitter TJ Rumfield.
- The play bore an eerie resemblance to Jose Canseco's infamous blunder 33 years ago, when a fly ball hit the Texas Rangers outfielder's head and went over the fence. Adell, a Gold Glove Award finalist, has previously made spectacular homer-robbing catches.
- Colorado won the game 8-2, dropping the last-place Angels to a 23-39 record, the worst in the American League. Pitcher Grayson Rodriguez gave up eight runs in 3⅓ innings as the bizarre home run gave the Rockies an 8-0 lead.
