Badlands Opera prepares for spring musical “Once Upon a Mattress”

DICKINSON — The Badlands Opera Project has been rehearsing for months and is now building the set for its spring 2026 production of “Once Upon a Mattress,” a comedic 1959 musical adaptation of the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.” Performances will be held March 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. and March 8 at 2 p.m. at the Dorothy Stickney Auditorium in May Hall on the campus of Dickinson State University.
