Backpackers will have to do without traditional cheap hostels with the option of spending the night on the ground in a sleeping bag during the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (IFF) this year, the 59th edition. One of the school buildings was rented for educational purposes and the other is undergoing renovation. Deník Právo and Novinky.cz are the main media partners of the IFF.
The 59th International Film Festival will begin on Friday in the spa town of Karlovy Vary in the west of the Czech Republic. At one of the oldest film festivals, which will run until July 12, 12 films are competing for the Crystal Globe in the competition program. This year, the Karlovy Vary festival will screen more than 130 films in total.
