- Ahead of the AWS Summit in New York, AWS previewed Kiro IDE, an AI-powered environment for developers.
- But developers often find vibe coding produces low-quality code requiring more debugging, AWS claimed its agentic IDE avoids these pitfalls.
- Using specs, Srini Iragavarapu said the Kiro IDE guides best practices and employs hooks for automation.
- Under its preview, Kiro is free while it remains in preview, AWS said it plans to charge $19.99 a month with a variable call limit.
- Support for more languages will come later, AWS said, as they aim to expand Kiro's global developer reach at the AWS re:Invent show this year.
