Award-Winning Sydney Speaker declares war on “Beige Communication”
Bowden says AI should speed first drafts, while human authenticity and empathy keep workplace messages memorable and persuasive.
On Friday, award-winning speaker Michelle Bowden launched a campaign against "The Sea of Beige," targeting bland, forgettable workplace communication fueled by over-reliance on AI-generated content.
Bowden, who has spent more than 27 years helping professionals communicate, warns organizations are creating technically correct but emotionally forgettable content; LinkedIn posts now sound identical.
"AI is one of the most exciting productivity tools we've ever seen," Bowden said, emphasizing professionals must interrogate AI output rather than outsourcing personality and humanity.
Salesforce recently built a custom AI assistant called the MB Bot based on Bowden's methodologies, while clients secured more than $1 billion in deals and $9.1 billion in Federal Budget funding.
Professionals who thrive in the AI era will combine technological speed with human authenticity, Bowden believes, emphasizing "The goal is more human communication.
