- Avalanche center Nazem Kadri questioned the penalty, noting MacKinnon made a clear effort to avoid Ingram. "I have no idea how that was a five-minute," Kadri said.
- Oilers goalie Connor Ingram exited under concussion protocol and was replaced by Tristan Jarry, who stopped 11 of 12 shots. Oilers star Connor McDavid scored the winning power-play goal.
