Global warming was one of the main destabilizing factors in the collapse of a 200,000-square-meter glacier that caused catastrophic flooding in Nepal and Tibet last month, according to the first scientific study on the disaster by Imperial College London and the WWA research association.
After the devastation caused by the collapse of a part of a glacier in Nepal, scientists recall that, at the time of climate change, glaciers that have become very vulnerable are becoming increasingly dangerous. With the acceleration of their melting all over the world, access to water is also threatened.
