Avalanche danger rises as heavy snow, high winds move into the Colorado mountains

A majority of the central and southern Colorado mountains are listed in the high risk category for avalanches. Heavy snow paired with high wind speeds increases the risk. So far this season, the CAIC has recorded two avalanche-related deaths and dozens of incidents.
