The elected ecologists of the Auvergne Rhône-Alpes region announced on Wednesday 24 June that they had taken legal action against Laurent Wauquiez. They accused him of continuing to hold office in the institution which he left in July 2024.
On Tuesday, the elected regional ecologists reported "misappropriation of public funds" to the prosecutor of the Republic of Lyon. They accuse Laurent Wauquiez of holding a de facto presidency of the Region.
The Greens announced on Wednesday 24 June that they would bring the matter before the courts under Article 40 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, accusing the LR MPs' boss of exercising "a de facto presidency" of the region, despite his resignation in 2024.
