Authorities investigating Six Flags Magic Mountain after "multiple bomb threats," CHP says
Sheriff’s deputies found no explosive device after multiple threats prompted a park sweep and delayed opening, officials said.
On Monday, Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia delayed its opening after receiving "multiple bomb threats" at 7:55 a.m., prompting an immediate investigation by the California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles County Sheriff.
Deputies and K-9 units searched the 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway property, which includes Hurricane Harbor, after authorities were alerted that a bomb was allegedly placed at a specific location within the park.
FOX 11's Stu Mundel reported seeing SWAT and County Fire crews at the scene, while Magic Mountain officials posted they were "aware of police activity" and "currently monitoring the situation."
The sweep concluded just after 11 a.m. with no threat located, allowing Magic Mountain to operate as normal and reopen at 12:30 p.m. following the safety check.
Six Flags Entertainment Corporation stated "safety is one of our top priorities," though it remains unclear if the threat was credible; further questions have been directed to the Los Angeles County Sheriff.
