Foot and mouth disease hits overseas

Until Sunday afternoon no foot-and-mouth disease cases were discovered in Austria. Border traffic remains limited. In Hungary buried cattle are probably no danger for drinking water.

Due to the foot-and-mouth disease virus infection, Austria has introduced restrictions on border traffic.

The Austrian authorities previously announced that they would restrict traffic between Hungary and Austria in order to prevent the further spread of the disease threatening ungulates. According to the decision, traffic was closed at uncontrollable smaller border crossings from 0:00 on Saturday. We show you what these are and where you can still cross the border into Austria.
