House Bill 2000, known as Audrii’s Law, which looks to close a loophole for sex offenders, is set for a vote in the Texas House.

HOUSTON – A bill that seeks to close a major gap in the Texas sex offender registry was approved by the state House of Representatives on Wednesday. It now passes to the Senate for vote. If passed, the bill will be passed to the governor’s office for final approval. It is named after 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham, who was murdered in February 2024 by Don Steven McDougal in Livingston.
