Audi driver killed two grammar school pupils in high-speed collision

Natasha Allarakhia was sentenced to 10 years after driving at 96mph and drinking lager while hitting a stationary car, killing two teenagers and seriously injuring others.

  • On Monday, August 18, Lincoln Crown Court sentenced Natasha Allarakhia to ten years in prison and a 12-year eight-month driving ban after her crash on the A17 last year.
  • In North Rauceby, the Audi Q2 collided with a stationary Ford Fiesta on June 20 last year, killing William Ray, 17, and Eddie Shore, 18.
  • Travelling at 96mph, she took sips of lager from a can while driving, despite traffic lights being visible from 620 metres away, and only braked 37 metres before impact.
  • She must pass an extended driving retest before regaining a licence; two rear-seat passengers, both 18-year-olds, survived but sustained serious injuries.
  • Underlining the driver’s role, the Lincolnshire Police's Serious and Forensic Collision Investigation Units found no vehicle defects, and Detective Sergeant Kate Johnston said the crash was solely down to her reckless actions.
