'It's their world too' - women's plea after 'rise in seagull attacks'

A woman from an East Lancashire wildlife rescue centre says there has been an increase in people deliberately harming seagulls.

An attack on a seagull with a beach chair that left the bird with a broken wing prompted Saugeen Shores police to issue a public service announcement that most species of gulls (including seagulls) are protected under the Migratory Birds Convention Act, 1994 in Canada. This means it’s illegal to harm, kill, or disturb gulls, their nests, or their eggs.
