A targeted operational plan to tackle petty crime in the center of Athens is in full development, with the Hellenic Police.
Intensive patrols, drones and arrests to tackle gangs and thefts
Special operational plans have been implemented by the General Police Directorate of Attica.
It includes mapping of the areas of Athens, flexible intervention teams, as well as interactive relationship and communication with professionals at the center and use of drones.
The Hellenic Police is implementing a constantly adapting operational plan in the center of Athens to address chain snatching, theft, drug trafficking and other forms of crime. The plan includes foot and vehicle patrols, DI.AS. and OPKE teams, drones, area mapping and cooperation with professionals, while data records hundreds of arrests in 2025 and 2026.
