Large snowfalls and ice-cream turning the roadway into a "rink" have caused at least five deaths on the roads of France and continue to seriously disrupt traffic on Tuesday, according to the French Minister of Transport, who deplores the under-evaluation of the event by the national meteorological services.
These road accidents, due to the ice, occurred in Seine-et-Marne, Val-de-Marne and in the Landes. The fatal fall of a biker in Ille-et Vilaine on Monday was ultimately not due to the weather, according to the authorities.
