The director of the Office of the Government of Serbia for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, said this evening that the court in Pristina ordered his assistant Igor Popović to be detained for up to 30 days.
Assistant Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija Igor Popović was brought to the building of the Basic Court of the Provisional Institutions in Pristina, where he will be brought before a judge for preliminary proceedings from 4 p.m.
Belgrade is currently in a state of uproar over the detention of a senior Serbian government official in Kosovo. Following Friday's arrest at the Brnjak border crossing, a court in Pristina on Sunday ordered Igor Popović, the assistant director of the Serbian government's office for Kosovo, to be detained for 30 days after he described former KLA members as terrorists. Belgrade is demanding his release.
The Basic Court of Temporary Institutions in Pristina ordered a detention measure of up to 30 days for the assistant director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
