Aspen warns of ‘major traffic impacts’ for Fourth of July

Aspen visitors and residents alike should expect major traffic impacts starting at 7 a.m. Friday, July 4, as Highway 82 is detoured and local streets are closed. A Pitkin County alert Wednesday encouraged all Fourth attendees to walk or bike. Aspen Mountain Road will be closed to public access from 8:30 to 10 p.m. for drone operations.
