Art historian Turgay Hortoğlu and experts have stated that the restoration work to be carried out on the wooden pulpit of the 863-year-old Kadı Kemaleddin (Boyacı) Mosque in Gaziantep, which is of great importance in terms of Islamic art history, will cause irreversible damage to the work. They demanded that the work be stopped, the original pulpit be preserved in a museum, and a replica be placed in the mosque.
