Arsenal's Max Dowman Becomes Youngest Player to Start a Premier League Game at 16 Years, 144 Days
Max Dowman, 16, also became the Premier League's youngest scorer and the youngest player in Champions League history, Arsenal said.
On Sunday, Arsenal winger Max Dowman became the youngest player to start a Premier League match at 16 years and 144 days, playing for the newly crowned champions against Crystal Palace.
Manager Mikel Arteta implemented wholesale changes to reward squad members after Manchester City's draw on Tuesday confirmed Arsenal's first title since 2004.
In March, Dowman became the league's youngest-ever scorer with a goal in Arsenal's 2-0 win over Everton, and he also holds the Champions League record at 15 years and 308 days.
To comply with Premier League regulations for players under 18, Dowman must change in a separate locker room from senior teammates while balancing his GCSEs this week.
The Gunners now shift focus to the Champions League final against holders Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on Saturday, bidding for their first European crown.
Arsenal footballer Max Daumann became the youngest player to start a Premier League game when he started the last round match against Crystal Palace at the age of 16 years and 144 days.
