Arsenal Defender Ben White Ruled Out of UEFA Champions League Final
Arsenal said the right back has a significant knee ligament injury and could miss England’s World Cup campaign this summer.
On Tuesday, May 12, Arsenal confirmed defender Ben White is out for the remainder of the season with a significant medial knee ligament injury, ruling him out of the May 30 UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.
White sustained the injury during Sunday's match at West Ham United after a challenge with Crysencio Summerville forced him off in the first half at the London Stadium.
Manager Mikel Arteta faces a right-back shortage with Jurrien Timber sidelined by a groin injury, leaving Cristhian Mosquera and 19-year-old Joshua Nichols as primary options for the position.
The Gunners are chasing their first Premier League title in 20 years, with two remaining domestic matches against Burnley and Crystal Palace determining the eventual league champions.
Beyond the club season, White is a major doubt for England's World Cup campaign this summer, casting further uncertainty over his availability for international competition.
Arsenal announced that his defender Ben White was a package for the end of the season of the London club, thus depriving him of the final of the Champions League against the PSG on 30 May.
