Stolen Bus Driven Into Vehicles After Driver Assaulted and Ejected in Telford
The driver was treated for minor injuries, and police said the man remains in custody while inquiries continue.
On Friday, a man in his 20s stole a bus in Madeley, Telford, after assaulting and ejecting the driver. The vehicle then traveled along Park Way on the wrong side of the road, colliding with multiple vehicles.
Officers were called to Court Street in Madeley at about 18.35 BST on Friday following reports of the assault. Emergency services closed Kemberton Road for several hours to investigate the scene.
Paramedics treated the bus driver for minor injuries, and no one else was injured during the incident. Police arrested the suspect on suspicion of robbery and dangerous driving after stopping the vehicle.
Detective Sergeant Taigh Lannie said, "We understand this will have been an alarming incident for those in the area this evening." He confirmed the man remains in police custody while inquiries continue.
