Mariners Win in Walk-Off Fashion in Former LSU Pitcher Kade Anderson's MLB Debut
Randy Arozarena drove a 404-foot shot to center after Seattle rallied from two runs down in the ninth.
On Saturday, Randy Arozarena hit a two-run walk-off home run 404 feet into center field, lifting the Seattle Mariners to a 5-4 victory over the Chicago Cubs in Seattle.
Top pitching prospect Kade Anderson made his highly-anticipated Major League debut, working five innings while throwing 72 pitches and allowing three runs before the Mariners' late rally.
Trailing 4-2 entering the ninth inning, the Mariners narrowed the deficit on an RBI single by Leo Rivas before Arozarena's walk-off blast sealed the comeback victory.
With three hits in four at-bats and three RBIs, Arozarena became the seventh player in MLB history to hit both a leadoff and walk-off homer in the same game.
The Mariners improved to 62-68 and moved 3.5 games behind Houston in the AL West, while Weston Wilson replaced an injured Brendan Donovan in the starting lineup.
