Judge Arias had obtained the first place in the order of merit drawn up by the Council of the Provincial Judiciary to fill the vacancy generated by the retirement of former Justice Marta Vidal.
Guillermo Arias will face his first election this Sunday since he took office at the Córdoba Electoral Court. However, Marcos Juárez’s office will be under the leadership of the Municipal Electoral Board and the new judge will only be able to intervene if any of his decisions are appealed.
