- On Thursday, June 4, 2026, Aecon Group Inc. and Arctic Gateway Group announced a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on infrastructure advancement for the Port of Churchill in Manitoba, strengthening Canada's northern trade corridor and Arctic sovereignty.
- Operated by Arctic Gateway Group, the Port of Churchill is Canada's only deepwater northern seaport with direct rail access to the Atlantic Ocean and serves as a critical link for Western Canadian resources. The port and railway are owned by 29 First Nations and 12 remote northern Manitoba communities.
- Aecon brings construction expertise while AGG contributes Indigenous economic development leadership to modernize the Port of Churchill. Partners plan new terminals, year-round operations, and upgrading the Hudson Bay Railway to industrial weight standards seamlessly connected to Canada's class 1 rail network.
