Apple accelerates security updates in response to AI-powered hacking risks

- Apple told Reuters on Monday that artificial intelligence speeds up malicious hacking tool development, forcing the company to reduce the time between patch creation and customer deployment.
- The updates include over 25 fixes addressing vulnerabilities in the Kernel, WebKit, and WebRTC that could allow attackers to crash systems or access private user data.
- Apple added that "while there was no evidence that any of the newly patched vulnerabilities had been taken advantage of," the company partnered with Anthropic's Claude Mythos Preview to identify flaws.
- Globally, firms like Tokyo-based Sakana and China's 360 Security Technology are developing cybersecurity models, reflecting a widening range of systems capable of discovering software vulnerabilities.
