Relaxed at first instance, Air France and Airbus could finally be sentenced following the crash of the Rio-Paris flight. The Attorney-General's Office demanded a conviction against the aircraft manufacturer and the French company, considering that "the faults alleged against the two airlines involved were characterized".
For the French Ministry of Public Affairs, both companies are blamed for not paying attention to the information on errors in the device and have not provided adequate explanations on the same issues.
The Paris Public Prosecutor's Office is calling for the conviction of Airbus and Air France for the faults that led to the Rio-Paris crash.
Airbus and Air France were released at first instance on 17 April 2023 in the case of the crash of the Rio-Paris flight AF447, in which 228 people died.
On Wednesday, 26 November, the Attorney-General's Office demanded the conviction of Airbus and Air France during the appeal of the crash of the Rio-Paris flight, which had killed 228 people in 2009. The two companies are each facing a fine of 225,000 euros for manslaughter.
At first instance, the Paris Correctional Court had released Airbus and Air France in 2023 on a criminal level, while recognizing their civil liability in the most deadly accident in the history of French companies.
