- Residents of New Jersey's 11th Congressional District will vote Thursday to elect a representative to the U.S. House seat formerly held by Democratic Gov. Mikie Sherrill.
- The contest features Democrat Analilia Mejia, a former Labor Department official, facing Republican Joe Hathaway, a member of the Randolph Township Council, to fill the vacancy.
- Regarding the Israel-Hamas War, Mejia has labeled Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a "war criminal," while Hathaway said the U.S. should stand "in lockstep" with Israel.
- As of Monday, about 54,000 ballots were cast, including about 34,000 from Democrats and 13,000 from Republicans, out of 603,000 registered voters in the 11th District.
- Polls close at 8 p.m. Thursday, and the winner will serve until the 2026 midterm elections, which occur 201 days from Thursday.
