Theo Burrell, Star of 'Antiques Roadshow,' Dies at 39
The TV antiques expert became a brain cancer advocate after her diagnosis and survived four years beyond an initial 12- to 18-month prognosis.
Antiques Roadshow specialist Theo Burrell died peacefully on Wednesday July 8 at age 39, surrounded by her family. Her family announced the ceramics and glass expert's death via Instagram on Saturday.
Diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2022 at age 35, Burrell defied initial medical expectations; professionals estimated she had 12 to 18 months to live, yet she survived for four years.
Brain Tumor Research CEO Dan Knowles described Burrell as "phenomenal" and "inspiring," noting she became an advocate for the organization three years ago after joining Antiques Roadshow in 2018.
Married to husband Alex, Burrell witnessed her son's first day of school and shared health updates, stating, "Whatever the results, I'll take stock, trust my oncologist and go from there."
Her family said Burrell wanted others to find hope in her story, expressing peace knowing the situation might improve for those diagnosed in the future. She hoped cancer statistics would one day be very different.
