Missouri lawmakers are once again trying to pass a Second Amendment Preservation Act. Almost two years after being struck down by an Eighth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel as unconstitutional, an updated version of Missouri’s Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) is making its way through the State Legislature in Jefferson City. On April 30, Sen. Adam Schiff (D-California) introduced the so-called “Assault Weapons Ban of 2025.” Picking up where his predecessor Dianne Feinstein left off, Schiff’s legislation would ban commonly owned semi-automatic firearms, such as the AR-15.
