MONTREAL - The RCMP arrested eight people this morning in Quebec and Ontario as part of an investigation targeting a smuggling ring that allegedly transported migrants across the U.S. border.

Approximately 100 Royal Canadian Mounted Police officers were mobilized on Thursday morning for an operation to dismantle a network of smugglers. Searches were conducted in Montreal and Brampton, Ontario, the police force says on its X account.
