The National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) announces that it has kept a lot of 5,000 kilograms of palm oil directly at the importer's warehouse after analysis has shown that the permitted limits of legislation for a contaminant known as 3-monochloropropandiol (3-MCPD) and its esters have been exceeded.
A batch of 5,000 kilograms of palm oil was detained by the National Food Safety Agency (ANSA) directly in the importer's warehouse, after laboratory tests showed that the permitted levels of contaminants were exceeded. According to ANSA, concentrations of the Sum of 3-monochloropropanediol (3-MCPD) and fatty acid esters of 3-MCPD of 4,500 µg/kg were detected in the analyzed oil, while the legislation allows a maximum of 2,500 µg/kg.
