BAJAUR DISTRICT, KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA, PAKISTAN, JUL 10 – Maulana Khan Zeb was killed in a targeted shooting while campaigning for a peace parade amid ongoing regional instability, with three others injured, police said.
- In Bajaur district, Maulana Khan Zeb, an ANP leader campaigning near Shindai Mor, was shot dead Thursday by motorcycle-riding assailants, with a police officer also killed.
- Maulana Khan Zeb was campaigning for the July 13 peace parade as part of the Bajaur Peace Action Committee, known for anti-extremism efforts and mobilising support, when he was shot dead in Bajaur.
- Police collected forensic evidence from the scene, where three associates—Dr Tariq, Shahsawar, and Osman—were injured and hospitalized; locals protested by placing Zeb's body in Khar Bazar.
- In response, ANP KP President Mian Iftikhar Hussain announced three days of mourning with black flags; party workers and residents staged a brief protest, demanding justice.
