Another solar farm proposed for regional pocket near Tamworth

Developers BrightPath Renewables and Enertrans Global have proposed the Spring Creek Solar Farm, a 293-hectare, 120MW facility with a 360MW battery energy storage system situated 20km south of Tamworth.
The location sits near the controversial Middlebrook Solar Farm and 16 kilometres north of the proposed Garoo Solar Farm, east of the New England Highway, in a region increasingly crowded with renewable energy projects.
BrightPath director and founder Tarek Alsampaile, a former chief business director at Spanish company Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, established the firm in 2023. Enertrans Global was founded in 2025.
While the project is not yet listed on the NSW Planning Portal, developers aim to deliver a scoping report in September, with environmental impact assessments scheduled to begin this December.
BrightPath claims to have developed 4GW of projects across 12 countries, and the firm may be looking to sell the project once developed on paper as ready-to-build packaging is reportedly in progress.
