Another DEXIT: Axiom Space Redomiciles in Texas
The move aligns Axiom Space’s legal home with its Houston operations as Texas expands space policy support and funding, including a $5.5 million grant.
On Monday, Axiom Space CEO and President Dr. Jonathan Cirtain announced the company has redomiciled its legal headquarters to Texas after operating in the state for 10 years.
High-Profile companies are increasingly leaving Delaware for Texas, a trend known as 'DEXIT,' citing concerns over Delaware's legal environment and support for Environmental, Social, and Governance policies.
The state awarded the firm a $5.5 million Space Exploration and Aeronautics Research Fund grant, which Cirtain said demonstrates Texas has 'built the policy and regulatory framework' to support innovation.
Texas currently hosts more Fortune 500 headquarters than California, while Governor Greg Abbott says 'Y'all Street will reduce barriers for businesses and refocus on core investment principles instead of ESG and DEI mandates.'
Axiom said Texas is 'actively transforming into the nerve center of the new space economy' as the company develops Axiom Station, a commercial successor to the International Space Station.
