Specialty Drinks in 25 States Recalled Due to Salmonella Concerns
The new list includes more than 20 items, and federal officials said no illnesses have been reported.
The Food and Drug Administration expanded a recall on Friday of over 20 dry milk-based beverage mixes, including tea and latte powders, due to potential Salmonella contamination.
Manufacturer SKS Copack produced the affected items using contaminated nonfat dry milk powder supplied by California Dairies Inc., triggering a broader industry recall affecting multiple beverage brands.
Affected items sold under brands including Angel Specialty Products, Royal Gold, and Boba Time were distributed to restaurants, cafes, and online consumers across 25 states.
While no illnesses are reported, officials urge consumers to check packaging for specific lot codes and return items to the place of purchase for a full refund.
Salmonella infections typically cause fever, diarrhea, and abdominal cramps within 12 to 72 hours, though most healthy individuals recover within a week without requiring medical treatment.
