NEW YORK STATE, JUL 18 – New York State agreed to pay $450,000 to settle sexual harassment claims against former Governor Cuomo, marking the second such payout this year, officials said.
- In a settlement, New York state agreed Friday to pay $450,000 to Brittany Commisso.
- According to a report from state Attorney General Letitia James, she found Cuomo sexually harassed 11 women, including Commisso, who alleged he fondled her in December 2020.
- As part of the deal, Commisso will personally receive $225,000, her legal team another $225,000, and she agreed not to seek employment in the governor's office through 2030.
- Cuomo’s attorneys Rita Glavin and Theresa Trzaskoma said `The settlement is not a vindication, it is capitulation to avoid the truth`.
- After losing the Democratic primary last month to Zohran Mamdani by over 12 points, Cuomo relaunched his independent mayoral campaign this week, facing an uphill battle in a heavily Democratic city.
