Belarus Opposition Politician Reportedly Declines to Cross Into Lithuania After Release

The Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko wanted to release 52 prisoners – including the opposition Nikolay Statkevich. He apparently refused to leave the country and disappeared shortly afterwards.
A man, who is believed to be Belarus opposition politician Mikola Statkevici, refused to spend time in Lithuania with other prisoners who were grateful and released at the request of US President Donald Trump, said to Reuters a representative of the Belarous opposition from exile. The old man remained alone in the neutral zone between Belarus and Lithuania.
The Lithuanian State Border Guard stated that one of the Belarusian political prisoners released on 11 September had left the neutral zone at the border and had returned to Belarus, as reported by the representative of the Gedraus Mischutis service to the Lithuanian television and radio company LRT.
