An inmate at the Iowa State Penitentiary in Fort Madison has died. The Iowa Department of Corrections says 70-year-old Steven Daniel Sager died August 23rd at 7:25 p.m. in the prison's hospice unit. Sager was serving a life sentence for the 1992 fatal stabbing of his wife, 34-year-old Carol Sue Nerness Sager, in Collins, Iowa.
