An asteroid has been named after Kazimieras Černýs, a researcher at the Faculty of Physics of Vilnius University, Vilnius University (VU) has announced. One of the asteroids he discovered was named after K. Černýs by Spanish and Venezuelan astronomer and asteroid researcher Professor Orlando Naranjo. K. Černýs himself gave names to about 200 asteroids during his career.
